YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday celebrated his birthday amidst people and party workers in the Nallamada mandal headquarters village of the district.

Party leaders, activists, and people in large numbers thronged the village, where Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy halted as part of his ongoing Praja Sankalpa Yatra, and conveyed their greetings to him.

On the occasion, the Opposition leader cut a cake and thanked the people for their support.

Party leaders organised several programmes such as blood donation and distribution of fruits to patients across the district.

Launching a tirade against the government, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was neglecting the agriculture sector, as a result of which farmers were committing suicide. The government was not taking any measures to rescue them, he alleged.

“The TDP government has deceived the farmers. First, it has not implemented its promise of waiving all their loans. Second, it has not implemented its promise of waiving even the reduced amount. You (the farmers) had to pay more interest than the loan itself in some cases,” he said, and appealed to the people to vote the TDP out of power.

On the 41st day of his yatra, he visited Raganipalli, Gopepalli, Ramapuram and Boggalapalli villages of the Nallamada Assembly constituency.
