Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar has said that the Grama Darshini programme is aimed at redressing the grievances of the people, including the beneficiaries of the various welfare programmes.
Addressing the programme at Ananthavarrapadu village in Prathipadu constituency, Mr. Dinesh Kumar said all State and district-level officers should visit the villages twice a week and get feedback over the implementation of various programmes.
The Chief Secretary, along with former Minister Ravela Kishore Babu and district Collector Kona Sasidhar, visited the SC Colonies in the village and interacted with the people.

Many complained about lack of proper roads, and some expressed their inability to construct houses. A few others urged the district administration to construct a compound wall for the school.
The Chief Secretary also enquired about the condition of the primary health centre in the village.
The village adopted by Guntur MP Galla Jayadev was also a beneficiary of the ITC project that supported construction of toilets.

“For the next six months, all government officers will be visiting the villages to elicit the feedback on the delivery of pensions, ration through public distribution system, and other welfare schemes. We urge people to raise issues without any fear,” said Mr. Dinesh Kumar.
Mr. Sasidhar explained that the village had been declared Open Defecation- Free, and added that housing would be expedited.
