The YSR Congress honorary president Y.S.Vijayamma has expressed satisfaction at her Delhi tour claiming that she was able to highlight the problems faced by the farming community to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar.
During her three-day tour, Ms. Vijayamma called on CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat, CPI leader A.B. Bardhan, Trinamool Congress leader Sultan Ahmed and NDA convenor Sharad Yadav. She utilised the opportunity to explain to them the partisan attitude of CBI probing the illegal assets case against her son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to reporters after her visit, Ms. Vijayamma said: “the purpose of our visit to New Delhi has been fulfilled. Leaders of national parties received us cordially.”

Meets Manmohan
The Prime Minister gave her a patient hearing on the farmer’s issue and assured the YSR Congress delegation to do the needful. She pointed out that the Agriculture Minister was equally surprised at the plight of the farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
The YSR Congress honorary president maintained the leaders of national parties did not approve of the manner in which the ongoing investigation against Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy was being conducted.

Replying to questions, she said her party did not encourage defections. She pointed out that the all the Congress MLAs, who quit their seat, had done on the issue of farmers. By-elections were held because they voted against the government in the no-confidence motion.
She dismissed the talk that YSR Congress won maximum seats because of sympathy factor. “Let my critic point out if I had shed tears seeking votes during the election campaign. It is three years since Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy died. Do you think sympathy factor will still be there?” she questioned.
The YSR Congress honorary chief, in the meantime, met the Central Vigilance Commission and presented a memorandum about the CBI’s partisan functioning in Andhra Pradesh.
