‘Value-based education is need of the hour’

Krishna University Vice-Chancellor V. Venkaiah on Wednesday appealed to budding technocrats to inculcate quest to explore new areas to achieve their goals.

Prof. Venkaiah inaugurated a two-day technical symposium, Vidura-‘15, on the premises of the DMSSVH College of Engineering here. The DMSSVH College of Engineering is conducting the annual symposium to enable students to showcase their projects before the experts.

Addressing the students, Prof. Venkaiah stressed the need for improving their skills to achieve success in the chosen field. “Time has come to follow value-based educational methods which will build character among the young minds”, he said. Students from nearly 60 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were registered for the symposium, where they displayed projects related to the field of electronics and communication engineering. Adaptation of thermal imaginary technology in wildlife conservation and operations of UAVs were some of the projects presented by the participants. BEL, Machilipatnam Unit General Manager T.N. Ramesh will interact with the students on Thursday during the valedictory programme.
