TRS to play lead role in TJAC programmes

December 01, 2012 02:34 am | Updated 02:34 am IST - HYDERABAD

Putting its strained relationship with Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) behind it, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has said that it will play a lead role in the separate Telangana agitation to be chalked out by the JAC on Saturday.

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will attend the JAC meeting to be held at Nacharam here. It will be for the first time since strains developed in TRS-JAC relationship in March that KCR will be attending a programme of the organisation.

This was announced by TRS floor leader in Assembly Eatala Rajender after a meeting of the party’s executive. He was at pains to explain that TRS had nothing against BJP which will also be represented at the JAC meeting though both parties had become rivals since the by-election at Mahbubnagar in March.

Mr. Rajender said the executive finalised its own 40 day `palle baata’ programme commencing from December 5 to spread the message of the party in every nook and corner of the region. TRS activists will go to the villages campaigning for separate Telangana. The meeting authorised KCR to reorganise the party network. It condemned reports speculating the absence of Medak MP Vijayashanti at Suryapet public meeting as a result of differences within the party. She had kept away after taking prior permission, he added.
