Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has accused Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of discriminating against Telangana region in the matter of sanctioning funds for drinking water schemes among others.
The party has faulted the sanction of Rs. 6,000 crore to drinking water schemes in his native Chittoor districtswhile sitting over similar requests from Telangana districts including some dating back to even 2004.
“Is this the way justice done to Telangana in the united State, particularly by the Chief Minister who is openly fighting for Samikyandhra”, TRS leaders E. Rajender and Somarapu Satynarayana asked.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, they said the TRS had been demanding sanction of funds from the State Government for drinking water schemes in Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Medak and other districts but the Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs. 6,000 crore to his native district. A drinking water scheme for 1,050 villages in Karimnagar district sanctioned by the Centre with Rs. 340 crore was pending since 2004 for want of 10 per cent matching grant from the State Government.
Explaining Mr. Kiran Reddy’s alleged bias against Telangana, the TRS MLAs said the government had invoked ESMA when Telangana employees were on strike but the Chief Minister himself was backing Seemandhra employees agitation now keeping aside acting against them. They also criticised him for not sanctioning input subsidy to farmers who suffered crop loss in calamities in Telangana.
