Highlighting the government’s commitment in strengthening the existing set-up of Tribal Welfare Residential schools in the State, Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu assured to improve the quality of education and infrastructure by adopting a slew of measures.

Interacting with the media, on sidelines of a meeting organised by the newly formed Andhra Pradesh Tribal Residential Schools Teaching and Non-Teaching Association, here on Tuesday, Mr. Babu maintained that all the residential schools would get a mini auditorium and the girls schools would be safeguarded by a solar fencing.

“Besides this, we have already introduced a toll free number – Dial your Welfare Minister, in Hyderabad, so that students can directly call us and inform of any issues in their respective schools. This would help us to keep a track on the developments and the complaints would be addressed within 15 days,” he added.

Minister for Environment and Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, who accompanied Mr. Babu during his visit, urged the teachers to follow a dedicated approach while educating the students, as parents rest their hopes on the teachers as well as the government for the all round development of their wards. He also emphasised that the current Rs.27 a day per student, allotted for food supplies would be increased with respect to the existing market rates.
