TNGO seeks 68 years retirement age for State staff

The Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers (TNGO) Union has demanded enhancement of retirement age of State government employees from the current 58 years to 68 years. The Union has also demanded enhancement of gratuity to Rs. 15 lakh besides seeking fixation of pay for office subordinates at Rs. 15,000 per month and a maximum of Rs. 1.25 lakh per month for gazetted officers.

At a press conference here, Adilabad TNGO Union president S. Ashok and general secretary K. Vanaja released the salient points of a representation made by the Union to the 10th Pay Revision Commission. The demands are included in the recommendations.

Among other demands which the TNGO Union wanted the PRC to implement are 69 per cent fitment, enhancement of house rent allowance from 14.5 per cent to 25 per cent in case of urban areas and 18 per cent in case of rural areas. The Union also sought enhancement of funeral charges to employees who die in service from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000.

Mr. Ashok also urged employees in the region to participate in the June 14 Chalo Assembly protest in large numbers. He said there was need for strongly raising the demand for the separate State once again.
