‘35 counters will be set up at Tirumala ’

The much awaited time slot system in the darshan of Lord Venkateswara aimed at reducing the waiting hours of the devotees in the darshan lines will be formally launched by the month-end.

Interacting with the media, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal on Friday said about 35 token issuing counters will be set up at Tirumala in addition to 55 counters in Tirupati.

Works relating to the construction of the counters are at pace.

Construction of temples

In reply to a question, he said the retractable roofs at a select few points inside the hill temple are being planned in such a way that shall in no way affect the ambience of the sacred shrine.

While the temples of Lord Venkateswara being constructed with a budget outlay of ₹34.60 crore at Kurukshetra in Haryana and ₹22.50 crore at Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu are nearing completion fresh works relating to the construction of the temple of Goddess Padmavati at Chennai ( ₹7 crore ) and another temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara in Bhuvaneswar ( ₹6. 70 crore ) will be soon taken up. Steps are afoot to further strengthen the Srivari Seva wing which of late has shot into prominence thanks to the selfless services being rendered by the volunteers.

‘Arjitha seva’ tickets

Mr. Singhal said a 56,424 tickets of various ‘arjitha sevas’ have been made available online for June of which 11,149 tickets relating to the predawn sevas and other important rituals will be provided by way of ‘e-dip’ to the devotees and the rest under general category.
