TDP is the only hope for people of the State, and it will give party ticket to the “right man at the right place,” Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said and appealed to the people to support the party candidates and vote for them.
Addressing a public meeting at Cherlopalli of Kadiri mandal in the district on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said he was eliciting public opinion on the candidates to be fielded in each and every constituency through various methods, and only those having maximum support from the people would be given the party ‘B’ form.
“Please do not give half-hearted mandate in the elections. Keep in mind which party has been working for your welfare and development and give full support to it,” said Mr. Naidu.

Pointing out that the party had won 104 seats in 2014, and a few well-wishers such as Chand Basha (who won on YSRCP ticket) had supported the government, he said the party should not face such a situation again this time.
Asking the people to be wary of the YSRCP and the TRS, and their political strategies, he called upon them to vote with due diligence.
He blamed YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for watering down the fight for Special Category Status (SCS), “Mr. Reddy supported the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to avoid conviction in 11 cases pending against him,” Mr. Naidu charged.

Promise to farmers
Reacting to the farmers’ agitation from Kadiri constituency for filling all the tanks in Anantapur before releasing Krishna water from the HNSS network to Chittoor district, the Chief Minister promised to deploy lifts if required to fill the tanks.
He said Mr. Basha and other leaders had brought this to his notice.
Mr. Naidu said the State invested ₹9,095 crore in the last four-and-a-half years in Anantapur district, bringing 175 tmcft water for irrigation purposes. He said a change was visible in the quantum jump in the income from the horticulture sector.
Implements distributed
Mr. Naidu later disbursed various implements to beneficiaries under different schemes at a mela organised at the venue.
