May 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 10:10 am IST - TIRUPATI:

Praveenbhai Togadia, the International Working President of Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has raised serious objections to the furore raised in the political circles to the ‘Ghar Vapsi’, a programme aimed at inviting the converts back into the fold of Hinduism.

He said there was ‘nothing new’ in the concept adding that several sants and pontiffs had started the practice centuries ago.

Addressing a select gathering of Sangh Pariwar members here on Wednesday during his visit to Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, he claimed that 15 lakh people who had converted to other faiths had been re-converted to Hinduism.
