The TTD management has geared itself for the grand conduct of the five-day annual ‘Teppotsavam’ (float festival) slated to commence from March 1.
The venue — Pushkarini (temple tank) — which shall host the festival has been spruced up for the mega event. Huge electrical cut outs depicting various images of Lord Vishnu have been erected on all sides of the tank adding more colour to the festival which will be organised after sunset on all the festival days. A powerful squad of swimmers has been readied to meet any exigency during the festival. The two-tier flotilla which shall be used for the purpose has been primed up with colourful electrical bulbs. Meanwhile, the authorities twice organised the trial-run of the flotilla to test its effectiveness.
