Tension gripped the city for the second day on Saturday with mobs resorting to violence at different places. The police resorted to lathicharge at three places to disperse the violent groups.
The protesters made a bonfire of tyres at every junction on the main roads as a mark of protest.
The supporters of TGV trader union and a section of integrationists ran into each other causing tension at Raj Vihar centre.

As both groups surged forward, the police intervened and dispersed the groups.
Later, integrationists moved towards Mourya Hotel and rained stones for the second day.
The police resorted to caning to clear the protesters.

At Vinayak Ghat also the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the trouble making groups.
The mob pelted stones at the police. Uneasy calm prevailed for the second day at C. Camp, Maddur Nagar and other places.
Around 400 students of St. Joseph’s Degree College conducted a demonstration at Raj Vihar Centre and shouted slogans.
Medical Students burnt the effigies of Congress party and protested. Lawyers carried out a bike rally in the city. Angry crowds gathered at different places and protested in forms of their choice. Civic life was paralysed with business establishments, offices and banks being closed and traffic remaining off the roads. Only occasional two-wheeler riders and a few autorickshaws were visible.
The burning lines of fire prevented the traffic at Junctions.
