Telugu novel released

Writer and critic Vadrevu Veeralakshmi Devi and poet Avadhanula Mani Babu say that the novel is contemporary in nature and can be related to the life of any individual from the middle class society

‘Panjaram Korina Manishi,’ a Telugu novel penned by Indraganti Janaki Bala, was released at a function organised by the city-based ‘Sahithi Sravanthi’ literary organisation at Gandhi Bhavan here. The novel was woven around the life of a lower middle class woman in a span of 25 years.

The challenges encountered by her in various phases of her life and the impact of the changes in socio economic conditions of the society in her lifestyle were depicted vividly in the novel. Published as a daily serial in a vernacular daily, the novel touched upon the changes approaching fast in the society in general and in the lives of women in particular.

Writer and critic Vadrevu Veeralakshmi Devi and poet Avadhanula Mani Babu reviewed the novel at length and observed that the novel was contemporary in nature and could be related to the life of any individual from the middle class society.

Chairman of the Cocanada Chamber of Commerce Dantu Surya Rao recalled his association with poet Indraganti Srikantha Sarma and Indraganti Janaki Bala for several decades and felicitated the couple on the occasion . President of the Sahithi Sravanthi Addepalli Rammohana Rao, member of the All India Women’s Conference Kalpakam Yechury and others were present.
