Telangana issue: talks with UPA allies soon

As Hyderabad and rest of Telangana regions are limping back to normality, the UPA government may hold discussions with its allies like the DMK, Trinamool Congress, National Conference and Nationalist Congress Party post-Deepavali, before taking a decision on the separate State issue.

Sources said even an all-party meeting would be called in the capital to elicit views of various parties because some of them like CPI-M have taken a firm view that the State should not be divided.

Health Minister and Congress general secretary in-charge of AP Ghulam Nabi Azad already indicated that the decision on the Telangana would be taken by the Centre as soon as possible. A Union Minister told

The Hindu that he expected a decision before the winter session of Parliament.

“Whatever be the decision, it will be a painful one for the government as the issue is complicated,” he said.
