In an attempt to woo the large chunk of minority voters in the city, YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy promised to nominate a minority leader as MLC from Kurnool district soon after coming to power.
Addressing an election meeting at Ambedkar Circle in old c ity here on Monday, he said the party was conscious about accommodating minorities in the power structure from the district.
Mr. Reddy said unlike other contenders he was not promising moon but promised only those which he wanted to implement at any cost. Referring to the TDP promise of one job per household, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy said many had advised him to promise two jobs per family but he refused to make such false promises.

He ridiculed the loan waiver for farmers and self-help groups by Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, which amounted to Rs 1.50 lakh crores and wondered whether it was humanly possible to implement such huge package costing more than the budget of the new state.
Mr. Naidu who is in his sixties could make any misleading statement but as leader who was to live with people for the next 30 years he cannot hoodwink the people, Mr. Jagan said.
He reiterated that he would make five signatures soon after coming to power which would revolutionise the lives of the people and also six other important decisions he promised to public. Mr. Reddy declared that he would not subserve the interests of Delhi but would make Delhi to treat the State as equal partner.

Earlier, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy who landed at SAP camp travelled in an open vehicle to the venue greeting the people along the route. The YSRC supporters distributed water packets to the audience. Kurnool assembly candidate S.V. Mohan Reddy and parliament candidate Butta Renuka and others were present. Later, he left for Nandyal where he was scheduled to address a public meeting and conclude his campaign in Anantapur district.
