TDP to follow stringent criterion in selection of candidates; party candidates in majority of seats

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu

It will not be an easy task for leaders from other parties migrating en masse to the Telugu Desam in anticipation of party tickets from the constituencies of their choice. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that the party would follow stringent criterion in the selection of candidates. While the party’s internal surveys would be utilised to establish the track record of the candidates in public service and their background, the IVRS mode that would be deployed would help in ascertaining whether the people were in favour of the particular candidate or otherwise.

“The TDP candidates will be there in a majority of the seats. Leaders from other parties will be considered in areas where the party is weak or where there is absence of required infrastructure. Only few aspirants who cross the IVRS test will secure tickets,” he said.
