Kurnool MP Butta Renuka and YSR Congress leaders on Thursday accused the Telugu Desam Party leaders of being behind the sand and liquor mafia in the State and acting highhandedly against social media and its activists.

Addressing the plenary session of the YSRC Kurnool constituency meeting of the party, presided over by the party’s Kurnool in charge M.A. Hafeez Khan, the MP, State general secretary B.Y. Ramaiah, district president Gauru Venkata Reddy and former MLA Kothakota Prakash Reddy alleged that selection of beneficiaries under various government schemes by the Janmabhoomi committees formed with ruling party functionaries was unconstitutional.

Important works were being allotted to the TDP cadre on nomination basis, without calling tenders, they alleged. The promises of constructing houses for the poor and sanctioning pensions to all the eligible had been ignored, they alleged.
