Susheel, driver released on conditional bail

March 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Andhra Pradesh Minister Ravela Kishore Babu’s son, Susheel, who was lodged in prison following registration of a case of misbehaviour with a woman in Banjara Hills a few days ago, was released on bail on Monday.

Along with the Minister’s son, driver of his car, Ramesh, who was arrested first in the case, also came out bail. The Banjara Hills police said the duo was given conditional bail. The two accused came out of the Chanchalguda central prison after bail papers were presented to the jail officials.

The Minister’s son travelling in a car being driven by Ramesh had allegedly stalked a burqa-clad woman on March 3. The woman’s family members, later in a complaint, charged that while the driver passed lewd comments on her, the Minister’s son allegedly pulled her hand and misbehaved with her.

Alerted by the shouts of the woman, passers-by gathered and beat up the driver while the Minister’s son reportedly fled the spot. Based on the complaint given by her family members, police registered a criminal case against the duo.

After serving notice to the Minister’s son, the Banjara Hills police interrogated him in the police station and arrested him, having found evidence against him. “Video footage of the Minister’s son stalking the woman while travelling in a car was found,” Inspector P. Murali Krishna said.
