Student injured as school bus overturns in Prakasam

A nine-year-old sustained serious injuries when a school bus plunged into an agricultural field at Ganapavaram, near Tripurantakam in Prakasam district on Monday.

Tripurantakam Sub-inspector Y.Nagaraj said the boy, whose hand got severed in the mishap, was rushed to a hospital in Guntur while other injured students were given first-aid.

Police arrested the driver, who allegedly lost control of the bus carrying 25 students, for ''negligent driving''. The bus was also seized.
