Exuding confidence that the State government would complete the construction of the Polavaram irrigation project as per the schedule, film actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna on Saturday said despite facing financial crunch, the government was not compromising on implementing the welfare schemes. Along with Home Minister N. Chinarajappa, Mr. Balakrishna inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Surasani Yanam village of Uppalaguptam mandal here. Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy was quite close to his heart, he said. “My day starts with worshipping Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and I am very happy to take part in the inauguration of this temple here,” he said.
Recalling his father the late N.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Balakrishna said there was no replacement for his father in the film field and in politics as well. Only the Telugu Desam Party could implement welfare schemes on a large scale and protect the interests of the State.
A good number of people turned up at the temple to have a glimpse of the actor.
