The State government is mulling over the launch of new youth policy that intended to generate employment to the youngsters in the private sector, according to Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
Flagging off the special buses with 100 trained workforce on board to Sri City from his camp office on the city’s outskirts here on Friday, the Minister said that a Group of Ministers was on the job of chalking out modalities for the new policy. “Under the policy, the unemployed will get monetary benefit from the government, besides obtaining support to launch their own business units,” he said.
The 100 youngsters were among the 190 youth who were undergoing training from ‘Vikasa’ and secured jobs in the Foxconn and TVS firms located in the Sri City Special Economic Zone . They belonged to Pithapuram, Peddapurm and Tuni areas and secured jobs and technicians with starting pay of ₹9,500 to ₹15,000 per month.

“The State government has generated about 40,000 jobs in the recent past. Similarly, the government is also attracting investments into industries that could generate more and more jobs,” Mr. Ramakrishnudu said, foreseeing bright future to Information Technology in places like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Nellore and Tirupati cities in the days to come.
