‘State ignoring farmers’

June 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The YSR Congress alleged that the Chief Minister was busy in holding a series of meetings to wriggle out of the cash-for-vote episode at a time when farmers were seeking the help of the government in providing inputs including seeds for taking up works in the ongoing kharif.

“The Chief Minister mortgaged interests of people in his efforts to come out of the cash-for-vote episode. This is evident from silence maintained by the State during the meeting convened by the Krishna River Management Board,” party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said.

The party staged dharnas across the State protesting “anti-farmer policies” of the government. The YSRC cadre laid siege to the Collectorates in some districts.
