With the completion of Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in both Telangana and Seemandhra, the State and Central governments have speeded up the State reorganization work.
Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty and other members of Apex Committee on State Reorganisation held a meeting with the Pratyush Sinha Committee on distribution of All-India Services officers between the two States in New Delhi on Thursday.
The Central committee of which Mr. Mohanty is also a member presented the suggestions made by the State committee for distribution of IAS, IPS and IFS officers. The committee later posted the guidelines to be followed for determining the IAS, IPS and IFS cadre strength of AP and Telangana on the website of Department of Personnel and Training, GoI.

The committee has sought comments and representations from the stakeholders latest by 6 p.m. on May 11.
C.R. Kamalnathan Committee on distribution of State-level employees between the two States also held a meeting in Delhi with Central government officials on Thursday. The guidelines for distribution on the basis of options exercised by the employees once approved would also be posted on the website for suggestions from employees.
Sources said that the State-level employees’ distribution is expected to be completed by May 25 so that files belonging to the two States would be handed over to the respective State Government personnel by the Principal Secretaries and secretaries of respective departments.

After the distribution of all files, the IAS officers would take position as heads of Secretariat departments and directorates by June 1 before the appointed day of June 2.
Meanwhile, the five-member Central committee for identifying the new capital for AP will pay a visit to the State from Friday. The panel headed by K.C. Sivaramakrishnan, former Secretary of Union Urban Development, will head for Visakhapatnam and later visit Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Guntur to examine the suitability of these areas as capital city. The committee will return to Hyderabad and hold discussions with the State government on May 13 and leave on May 14, sources said. The committee will visit Rayalaseema and other areas during their next visit, the sources said.
The committee was constituted in March to study various alternatives and recommend a new capital for the successor State of Andhra Pradesh.
The committee also invited suggestions from public and organisations for the location of new capital.
An official said that the committee received about 8,000 mails and they were yet to be analysed by the Union Home Ministry. The committee has been given time till August 31 to submit its report on the new capital.
Work is also apace for carrying out modifications at the H-block identified as the CM’s block for AP.
