Two spurious ghee manufacturing units were busted by the officials of Food Safety Department and the police on the city outskirts on Thursday. Spurious ghee weighing over 2,700 kg was seized from the units in Surampalli under Nunna police station limits. Acting on a tip-off, the Nunna police and officials of Food Safety Department jointly raided the two unauthorised ghee manufacturing units. Assistant Food Controller N. Purnachandra Rao and Nunna Circle Inspector M.V. Durga Rao led the raids.
Mr. Rao said that eight samples have been collected and the spurious ghee and machinery seized.
