Spread the word on road safety app, says DIG

‘Render timely help to victims of accidents on national highways’

Deputy Inspector General, Eluru Range, P.V.S. Rama Krishna on Friday presented a demonstration on the Andhra Pradesh Police Road Safety mobile application that communicates safety alerts such as accident-prone areas.

Addressing Krishna district police officials during a review meet on crime here, Mr. Rama Krishna asked them to create awareness on the services being offered through the app.

“The motorists will get updates, particularly providing information regarding alert about accident-prone areas based on the location,” he added.

The senior officials such as Krishna District Additional Superintendent of Police B.D.V. Sagar were asked to provide information on accident-prone areas across the district to list them in the app.

Pending cases

“The local police should ensure timely services to those involved in road accidents on national highways,” he said. Responding to the disposal rate of pending cases, including criminal cases, Mr. Rama Krishna directed the senior officials to intensify the investigation into the cases pertaining to missing of minor girls and women. The DIG also conducted a review on the crime rate and road mishaps.

The DIG interacted with Housing Board Department engineers and asked them to complete repair works of the district police training centre keeping in view commencement of training for newly recruited police constables.
