‘Single Desk’ for speedy clearance to industries

January 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Andhra Pradesh government will soon be bringing out ‘Single Desk’ policy for coordination of all relevant departments in giving speedy clearances to proposed industries within the fixed timelines.

Chief Secretary I.Y.R.Krishna Rao in his weekly meeting with the Secretaries of all departments here on Saturday asked them to fix time lines for various processes involved before giving approval for setting up an industry. About 20 clearances from various departments such as environment, revenue, pollution control board, Labour, Inspector of Factories etc., were needed for setting up any manufacturing or processing unit. The time lines for various processes would range from one week to three weeks and if the department concerned did not clear the application, it would be deemed approve.

The policy would be further fine tuned and sent to the Cabinet for its approval. It will not, however, come up before the Cabinet meeting scheduled for January 27. On updating the Resident Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh at New Delhi about pending proposals and projects for clearance from the Centre, Andhra Pradesh government launched one web portal with link to the office of the Resident Commissioner and offices of Secretaries of departments couple of months ago.
