Seven killed in road accidents

Five persons were killed in two separate road mishaps and five others sustained injuries in district on Saturday. In the first incident, three persons passengers were killed as a lorry carrying tiles skidded off the road and overturned at Akupamula village of Munagala mandal on NH-65. The deceased were identified as Narla Konda Swamy, 31, S.K. Saida Saheb, 32 and Venukonda Kondal Rao, 32.

Two others that include the driver of lorry also sustained serious injuries. Kodad Rural Inspector P. Madhusudhan Reddy said the deceased, working as labourer, have boarded the lorry to reach Hyderabad. The speeding lorry overturned in the wee hours of Saturday. The trio, residents of Revuru village of Mellachervu mandal, died on the spot and the injured were rushed to a hospital.

Meanwhile, two others were killed in a road accident as a tractor carrying hay overturned on Toopranpet to Ibrahimpatnam road under Choutuppal town police station limits.

The deceased Palaguri Rami Reddy, 48, Doppa Jangiah, 35, were killed on the spot. Neredu Sathaiah, Chinthala Darshan and Dharamoni Yellaiah sustained serious injuries. The victims were reportedly taking the hay from Pochampally area to Dandumailaram village in Rangareddy district.

In Karimnagar, two persons — businessman of Manthani Sadasiva Reddy (55) along with his daughter Niharika (14) — were killed when the car in which they were travelling hit a stationary lorry near Thotapalli village of Bejjanki mandal on Saturday.
