Seven Baramati pilgrims die as car rams into house

A Scorpio (MH 42k 2443) lost control and rammed into the house of Subbarayudu

Seven pilgrims of Baramati in Pune District of Maharashtra bound for Tirumala, were killed when the Scorpio (MH 42k 2443) in which they were travelling, lost control and rammed into the house of Subbarayudu along the National Highway No. 18 at Pedda Bodhanam in Chagalamarri mandal of Kurnool District early on Monday morning.

Five persons died on the spot and two others including the vehicle driver succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the Government Hospital at Allagadda. Four of the deceased were identified as Shekhar Dhawan, Nagesh Karade, Chagar Balachoranal and Chiwari Akshay, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sashi Kumar said.

Subbarayudu’s family members Surendra, Nagendra and Balanagamma were severely injured and were rushed to Nandyal Hospital. The house was partly damaged due to the impact of the mishap.
