Services of Nyapati Subbarao remembered

Nyapati Subbarao Pantulu’s birth anniversary was celebrated here on Wednesday by his family members and officials in a simple function at his statue inaugurated at The Hindu square, five years ago.

Rajahmundry Urban District Superintendent of Police S. Harikrishna accompanied by Nyapati Lakshmi Narasimha Rao, Nyapati Subbarao - grandsons and Nyapati Vijay, High Court Advocate, Uma, Yagna, great grandchildren, attended the function.

Outstanding personality

After garlanding the statue, Mr. Harikirshna said that Mr. Subbarao Pantulu was an outstanding personality during freedom movement and great visionary as one of the founders of

The Hindu newspaper.

He said that it was a great opportunity for him to garland the statue of a great freedom fighter, journalist and lawyer.

Mr. Narasimha Rao said that the statue and a small park in front of it would be given to any private or public sector companies for maintenance.

Central Zone DSP N. Babji, Three-Town police inspector Srirama Koteswara Rao and women police inspector Bharatmataji also garlanded the statue of Mr. Subbarao Pantulu.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Kesari Yuvajana Samiti (AKYS) celebrated Nyapati Birth Anniversary in Freedom Park near Kotipalli Bus Stand. AKYS founder Y.S. Narasimha Rao and president A. Padmalatha garlanded bust size photo of Nyapati Subbrao Pantulu and recalled his contribution to freedom movement.
