Electricity Joint Action Committee leaders have decided to suspend their five day-old strike against bifurcation of State after talks with the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Thursday.
They appealed to the 30,000 employees of APTransco and 15,000 contract workers to report for duty from 6 a.m. on Friday, in view of the sufferings of people without power.
JAC Chairman B. Sai Baba said the decision was taken keeping in view the threat of the cyclone and also considering the assurances given by the Chief Minister to defeat the resolution on Telangana when it comes up before the State Legislative Assembly shortly.

After the first meeting with the Chief Minister three days ago, three more rounds of talks were held between the JAC and senior officials so far.
The JAC leaders warned that if Government failed to keep up its promise, they would not hesitate to re-start their agitation and once again go on a strike. They said their five-day strike had a nation-wide impact and the Centre had also taken note of their demand.
