Seemandhra Congress leaders may skip AICC meet

January 12, 2014 09:03 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:21 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

A large number of Seemandhra Congress leaders may give a miss to the AICC meeting convened in New Delhi on January 17.

While the AICC members from Telangana are eager to participate in the meeting, Seeemandhra Congress leaders, who feel betrayed by the party’s decision to favour bifurcation of the State, see no purpose by attending it.

There is also question mark over the participation of the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy though the PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana has made it clear that he would be present.

Incidentally, the Assembly would resume its sitting to continue the debate on the AP Reorganisation Bill 2013 and the Council the next day.

There are over 150 AICC members from the State including co-opted members. District Congress Committee presidents have also been invited to the meeting which is scheduled to discuss the strategy for the general elections.

Some Ministers considered loyal to the high command such as Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, N.Raghuveera Reddy, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, Maheedhar Reddy and Kondru Murali Mohan may attend.

There is however no clarity about the Seemandhra Congress MPs who have raised a banner of revolt against the central leadership.
