Sculptor Arun Prasad Udayar has announced that he and his team were making a 90-ft tall ‘panchaloha’ statue of goddess Vasavi Devi as per the order given by Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah.

Addressing a media conference here on Friday, he said that the statue was being moulded with care to withstand the vagaries of the nature. He said that they had made the statues of social reformer Jyothirao Phule and supplied to each and every district in united Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Arun Prasad said that he along with his brother Karun Kumar Udayar was going to establish an arts academy to teach the art of sculpturing to the students and unemployed youth in and around Rajahmundry. He said that he wanted to rejuvenate the dying art in the district.
