RSASTF’s ‘Dog Squad’ unearths red sanders dump

The dog squad, attached to the Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF), unearthed a dump comprising nine red sanders logs, during a combing operation in Seshachalam forests here on Sunday night.

According to RSASTF Superintendent of Police P. Ravi Shankar, a team led by RSI Vasu began combing operation in the Seshachalam forests between Srivari Mettu and Kalyani Dam area. Though the officials did not find any movement of smuggling operatives, they stumbled upon a set of footprints near Ragimakulagunta area and requested the services of the dog squad.

A well-hidden red sanders dump, with logs buried into the soil and covered with dry leaves was discovered by the dogs – Bittu and Hunter.
