‘Those submitted by F+P first class’

A day after holding two rounds of discussions on the designs for the Capital Amaravati with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, film director S.S. Rajamouli sought to downplay his engagement in the project by sending a message. In a bunch of Tweets, he said the news reports which suggested he was appointed as a consultant, designer, supervisor etc., were not true.

Going a step further, he observed that the designs submitted by Foster + Partners (F+P) were first class and that Mr. Naidu and his team was happy with the same, but he (the CM) wanted a design for the Legislative Assembly to be much more iconic.

Mr. Rajamouli stated that he was interpreting Mr. Naidu’s vision to F+P to quicken the process and hoped his contribution would be of some help to the epic project.

Mr. Rajamouli met the CM once on Wednesday morning before the latter left for the Collectors’ Conference, and again in the evening but not much was known about the outcome of their confabulations as it was the first time that the Director of

Baahubali came face to face with the Chief Minister for a specific discussion on the subject. One thing Mr. Rajamouli made clear on Thursday was that he is teaming up with architects and designers working on the capital designs, to bring the best of both worlds, tradition and modernity, together.
