Rajaiah’s family named accused in Sarika case

The police here on Saturday filed the remand report with the court in the sensational death of Sarika and her three sons, the daughter-in-law and grandchildren of senior Congress leader and former MP S Rajaiah, .

The police believed that it was a case of suicide as the victim had been harassed by Mr Rajaiah and his family members driving her to desperation. They registered a case under Sec 498 (A), dealing with dowry harassment, and Sec 306, dealing with abetment to suicide.

The police named Anil Kumar, husband of Sarika, as accused number one, Rajaiah as number two, his wife Madhavi as number three and Sana as number four. Sana was allegedly having an illicit relation with Anil Kumar, for which reason he had allegedly neglected his wife Sarika and her children for a long time. The Hindu that the door of the room, in which the four bodies were found, was bolted from inside and hence it could not be concluded as murder.
