The APCC President said at a party meeting at Tirupati on Thursday that the TDP regime failed to waive the loans of farmers as well as DWCRA women.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President N. Raghuveera Reddy has dared TDP President and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to discuss its election manifesto in its ongoing Mahanadu. He also urged the party activists to question the leadership on the 600 promises made in the 50-page manifesto that remain unfulfilled.

Taking a dig at the TDP for using the Mahanadu platform only to flay the UPA rule and pat itself for the ‘glorious’ one-year rule, the PCC chief said at a party meeting here on Thursday that the TDP regime failed to waive the loans of farmers as well as DWCRA women, provide jobs to the youth, the promised ex-gratia for the unemployed and ensure minimum support price for farmers, while on the other hand, it stripped the poor of white ration cards, cancelled 12 lakh pensions and rendered one lakh workers jobless.

“He does not sanction funds, but sleeps near the irrigation projects. We acquired land for Dugarajapatnam project, but he relegated it to cold storage. He shelved Polavaram and brought Pattiseema to the fore for kickbacks”, he charged.

Mr. Reddy released a compilation of snippets from ‘Manasulo Mata’ authored by Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, indicating his views on contentious issues like contract jobs, irrigation projects, free power etc. He also released a compact disc ‘Jamatha Dasamagraham’ containing the series of speeches made by Late NTR expressing ire over his son-in-law Mr. Naidu after the coup. He wondered if the TDP leaders led by Mr. Naidu had any moral right to pay tributes to NTR after usurping power from him and causing him mental agony.

Former Minister C. Ramachandraiah questioned the need for the state to unduly worry about building the capital, which is the centre’s responsibility according to the Reorganisation Bill. Senior leaders S. Sailajanath and N. Tulasi Reddy, former Member of Parliament Chinta Mohan, district leaders R.Sreedevi and Mabbu Devanarayana Reddy took part, while city unit President P. Nagabhushanam presided.
