‘Pushpayagam’ enthrals devotees

A large number of devotees turned up for the ‘Pushpayagam’ organised on the concluding day of the nine-day Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams organised by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at the ACSR Stadium here on Sunday.

Flower petals of a wide variety of plants were used in the ‘Pushpayagam’ which was held to Sri Malayappa Swamy flanked by Sri Devi and Bhu Devi at the venue.

On the last day of the grand event, priests and TTD officials brought sandal paste and used it in the rituals. The officials said that in the last nine days, nearly 10 lakh devotees had darshan at the Vaibhavotsavams.

The Pushpayagam ritual lasted nearly two and half hours during which time the devotees waited and chanted in the pandals. Most of them remained at the venue till the last moment.

TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishna Murthy, Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao, Joint Executive Officer P. Bhaskar and other officials were present on the concluding day.
