‘Protect interests of working class’

Opposition parties and trade unions on Sunday charged the Union and the State governments with failing to protect the interests of the working class of the country. May Day was celebrated in several parts of the district including Pydibhimavaram industrial zone. YSRC district president Reddi Shanti, who hoisted flag in the party office, asked the government to protect interests the workers as many industries were not paying minimum wages. Activists of the CPI(M), CPI and the CITU organised rallies and meetings at various places.

CITU district general secretary D. Govinda Rao urged Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu to resolve the pending issues of workers. Meanwhile, Srikakulam MP K.Rammohan participated in May Day celebrations.
