Priority for ordinary devotees at Tirumala

December 20, 2014 02:42 am | Updated 02:42 am IST - Tirumala:

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao said on Friday that the management was determined not to entertain any VIP recommendation letters either for darshan or accommodation on New Year’s Day.

With Vaikunta Ekadasi on January 1, the administration has resolved to accord top priority to ordinary devotees.

Mr. Sambasiva Rao told presspersons that only protocol VIPs — those arriving in person and not exceeding four in number — would be given importance. However, 10,000 tickets of Rs. 300 each will be available online for Vaikunta Dwadasi darshan (January 2) from 9 a.m. on December 24.
