The Praja Garjana meeting organised by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) not only boosted the morale of the cadre but the leadership as well.

The party district leaders were in disarray as N. Chandrababu Naidu failed to be assertive on the separate Telangana issue. Following this the cadre at village level remained in confusion.

More than the criticism by other parties and allegations that the TDP was against separate Telangana, the inactiveness of district level leaders did more harm to the party than the bad propaganda by TRS leaders.

The district level leaders undermined the party’s strength, organised cadre network and loyal vote bank that were built over a period of time.

The district leaders were not seen in the ongoing municipal and Zilla Parishad elections as they used to be in the past. The lower level leadership at village and mandal level lost the morale with the rumours about MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao’s trials to jump to other parties and sudden exit of Kadiam Srihari and his joining into the TRS party.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to conduct the public meeting seems to have served more purpose than what was thought of. It boosted the morale of the party workers.

A group of party workers raised slogans continuously at the public meeting organised recently. Initially, the party leaders thought some miscreant elements were trying to create nuisance. But, when the district leaders went and spoke to placard sporting youth, they were only demanding Mr. Naidu not to part with Parkal Assembly seat to BJP in case of alliance.

Mr. Naidu was in all smiles knowing that. At a time many senior leaders were going back on contesting the election on party ticket, there were party workers who came forward to work for victory of the party.
