PMO approves provisional allocation of AIS officers to AP, Telangana

List will be uploaded in two or three days

The Prime Minister’s Office has approved the provisional allocation of All India Service officers finalised by the Pratyush Sinha Committee to the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

It may be recalled that the Pratyush Sinha Committee had finalised the provisional list of allocation after giving additional time to the AIS officers to submit objections, if any, till November first week and forwarded the list with some minor changes to the Department of Personnel and Training.

The DoPT took its own time and forwarded the list to the PMO recently.

However with Prime Minister Narendra Modi away on foreign tours and later with the election campaign, the file has been pending with the PMO.

It was on Tuesday that Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao and Telangana Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma were asked to attend a meeting at the PMO scheduled for Wednesday.

According to the sources, the provisional allocation list approved by the Prime Minister would be uploaded in two or three days. It was also decided to allow swapping of officers within the same category and grade. The DoPT would also consider any objections and suggestions within 15 days and finalise the list.

It is expected with the above relaxation about 90 per cent of AIS officers would be allocated smoothly to both the States.
