The Central Government is closely monitoring the progress of Andhra Pradesh bifurcation work to ensure that all the issues arising out of division will be addressed as provided in the State Reorganisation Act, 2014.
P.K. Mohanty, Chief Secretary, is leaving for Delhi for a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary on Friday to apprise him of work done so far by various committees looking into distribution of employees, files, assets and liabilities, contracts, projects, between the two successor States before appointed day, June 2.
Mr. Mohanty had directed the 20 committees to complete their work and reports by April 30 so that the Centre would be in a position to implement that proposals given in the Act.

Recently, the Group of Ministers headed by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde held a meeting with representatives of Central Ministries and departments and reviewed the action taken by them in implementing the State Reorganisation Act.
The Centre recently constituted State Advisory Committee for distribution of State-level employees, a committee for location of new capital city for the successor State of Andhra Pradesh.
The Central departments are yet to start work on examining feasibility for various promised infrastructure projects in the successor State of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
