PCC chief seeks CBI probe on Revanth's episode

Reacting on the suspension of former PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana, he alleged that the former had indulged in 'anti-party' activities.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President N. Raghuveera Reddy sought a CBI probe into TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy's episode while challenging A.P. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to face the inquiry if he was really innocent in offering kickbacks in Telangana MLC elections.

He addressed a media conference and later party workers in Indira Vignan Bhavan at Sriakkulam on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said that Mr. Revanth Reddy cannot escape from the bribery charges.

"Former BJP President Bangaru Lakshman was sent to jail while accepting Rs.1 lakh as bribe. The same rule should be applicable in the case and guilty should be punished," he added.

"Mr. Chandrababu claimed that he never indulged in unethical practices to win the elections. He himself should seek CBI inquiry if he did right in Revanth Reddy episode," said Mr. Raghuveera Reddy.

Reacting on the suspension of former PCC Chief Bothca Satyanarayana, he alleged that the former had indulged in 'anti-party' activities. The PCC President felt that there would not be any impact on the Congress Party with his suspension.

He interacted with the the party senior leaders Killi Kruparani, Kondru Muralimohan and others over the implementation of SC-ST Sub Plan in Sriakakulam District.

They said the plan was being ignored during TDP regime though it was meant to benefit the downtrodden sections.
