Chittoor district YSR Congress president and G.D. Nellore MLA Kalattur Narayanaswamy on Sunday urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to take immediate steps to develop rural roads in the reserved constituencies shunning political bias.

Speaking to the media at Jakkadonna village of Vedurukuppam mandal where he undertook padayatra on public issues, Mr Narayanaswamy alleged that the Chief Minister had deliberately ignored development in the reserved constituencies won by the YSR Congress.

He said that G.D. Nellore constituency (SC) was worst hit in the State with over 50 rural roads neglected since Independence, leaving thousands of the rural poor, mostly Dalits, in a state of despair. “The Chief Minister, who hails from Chittoor district, is fully aware of the backwardness of G.D. Nellore.

He should set aside political discrimination and develop the constituency,” Mr. Narayanaswamy said.

The YSRC leader criticised Mr. Naidu’s remarks that he did not have even a watch or a ring. “People would only laugh at him. If his words are true, how is it possible for Mr. Naidu to send his son Nara Lokesh to study abroad. The YSRC will expose his gimmicks to the public by launching campaigns in a phased manner,” he said.
