April 23, 2014 08:38 pm | Updated June 10, 2016 07:23 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Actor-turned-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has said that for him the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) comes first, then his family.

Responding to a query at a media conference here on Wednesday that whether or not he would campaign in Rajampeta segment from where his sister D. Purandeshwari was contesting the polls on the BJP ticket, Mr. Balakrishna said that the constituency was not included in his route-chart. “For me, the party (TDP) is above my family. I will work with dedication to fulfil my father’s (NTR) aspirations. I will accept any post that the party will offer me,” he said, adding that he had no ambition to become the Chief Minister.

He said that the response to his road shows in Cheepurupalli, Nellimarla, and Vizianagaram Assembly constituencies has been good. Terming the State division as an unethical move by the Congress government, he said: “All Telugu speaking people will remain one,” adding that the TDP had a strong base in both Telangana and residuary State.Later, he continued his road show at Kothavalasa in S. Kota Assembly segment.
