No room for tainted persons, says JSP

‘New comers will be given 60% of the party posts’

Sixty per cent of the posts will be given to the new comers in the Jana Sena Party (JSP), according to its State media in charge Pidugu Hari Prasad.

Addressing the media after inaugurating the two-day programme to select the party’s resource persons for Krishna district here on Saturday, Mr. Prasad said there was no room for tainted persons in the party. The character of the persons would be scrutinised before welcoming them into the JSP fold.

Mr. Prasad said the selection of resource persons was a huge hit as nearly 60,000 youngsters enrolled themselves online.

“The process has already been done in all districts, and the one in Vijayawada is the last. The selected persons will be the link between the party and the people, as their services will be utilised in cities, towns, mandals and villages as per their capabilities and strengths.”

Mr. Prasad said the party was also contemplating conducting workshops for the selected persons to prepare them for longer innings in politics. JSP vice-president B. Mahendra said several political leaders were showing interest in joining the party.

“Working for the welfare of the people is our. Party president Pawan Kalyan has reacted on several pressing issues. We will stand by any organisation that fights for the people’s cause,” he said.

On whether the JSP would support the NDA in 2019, Mr. Prasad said the decision to support the TDP in Andhra Pradesh and the BJP at the Centre in 2014 had been taken as per the political compulsions then.

“We will support any party, including the YSR Congress Party, provided it fights for special status for Andhra Pradesh and takes up issues concerning the people.”

‘No comparison

with PRP’

Urging people not to compare the JSP with the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP), the leaders said that Mr. Pawan Kalyan was entering politics to keep the party alive for more than hundred years.

Mr. Prasad said Mr. Pawan Kalyan would complete all his professional commitments at the earliest.

“By March 2018, the party will be completely established in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after completing membership drive, finalising manifesto, and constituting committees right up to the village level. Mr. Pawan Kalyan will tour all the districts and interact with people from all walks of life,” he said.
