Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the loan waiver promise made to farmers and DWCRA women’s groups would be fulfilled soon regardless of the problems that would arise.
“I am talking to the RBI officials. They are hesitating as the loan waiver will create problems for them in other States. But here in A.P., we are facing some peculiar problems,” he said.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the Nellore Government Medical College here, Mr. Naidu spoke of his efforts to convin-ce the RBI about the need for supporting the new State of A.P.

He expressed confidence that with the help of the NDA government under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the TDP government would do everything possible to bring A.P. on the fast track of development. “Hyderabad was developed during my regime and that of NTR. Now the coastal region has greater advantage. Its natural and human resources coupled with a large number of entrepreneurs will surely make a big difference,” he said.
Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs M. Venkaiah Naidu promised to extend all support from the Centre to develop the Polavaram project as a national project to benefit many districts spread over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. Terming it as the future lifeline of A.P., he said there should be no scope for any dispute on this project. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu asserted that Polavaram would be completed in record time. Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas Rao presided over the meeting. Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana and others were present.
