Nirmala files papers for Rajya Sabha poll from Andhra Pradesh

Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister ofState for Corporate Affairs, files hernomination for the Rajya Sabha electionsin Hyderabad on Saturday. With her isA.P. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu

Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday filed her nomination papers for Rajya Sabha election from Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and several BJP leaders were present when Ms. Sitharaman filed the papers.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana BJP presidents respectively, K. Hari Babu and G. Kishan Reddy, senior leader and Secunderabad MP, Bandaru Dattatreya and former Sikkim Governor V. Rama Rao, were among the BJP leaders who were present.

Besides Mr. Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Chinna Rajappa, Legislative Affairs Minister Yanmala Ramakrishnudu and Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha were among the Telugu Desam leaders.

Ms. Sitharaman filed the nomination for the vacancy caused by the death of N. Janardhana Reddy. The last date for filing the nomination papers is June 23.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said he was proud that Ms. Sitaraman was being elected to Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.
