New crime series to keep viewers hooked

Come July first week and Telugu telly viewers are in store for some real action and crime content that is not dubbed from some other language.

Based on real life crime instances is the serial ‘Real Detectives’, produced by Sonopix, the production house known for popular game shows such as Wow, Ali 369 and Modern Mahalaxmi. It is set to air on ETV from July 5. “It is a mega weekly detective serial, first of its kind on Telugu television, which is scheduled for telecast on Sundays at 9.30 p.m.,” says the producer of the serial, A. Prasada Rao.

Each Sunday will bring a new story and the serial, based on true cases detected and solved by Truth Labs, has been designed with a screenplay that is sure to keep viewers engrossed. With no budgetary constraints to achieve appealing visualisation, the production values are truly trend-setting, he says.

Every week, one story forms an hour-long episode for ‘Real Detectives’, which starts with how the crime was committed and the way it was solved through scientific investigation. “For perfection and forensic authenticity, the content of the serial is supervised by Dr. K.P.C. Gandhi and his team from Truth Labs,” Mr. Prasada Rao says.

Apart from the gripping narrative of crime-solving, the serial also seeks to spread awareness on situations that could lead to potential harm and how individuals need to be cautious. As for the cast, Sunil Kumar leads the Real Detectives team as ACP Indrajeet and is assisted by actors Bhushan, Gita Bhagat, Nitin Nash, Pujita, Arun Kumar and Indraja.
